TRUST Sweet Iron Loose Ring Waterford Gag
Designed for stronger type horses, the TRUST Sweet Iron Loose Ring Waterford Gag bit helps to encourage the horse to keep its head up. With soft hands this bit is very helpful in the jumper ring and on the cross country course. This bit can be used with two reins, one on the bit itselt and the other set of reins on the “gag cheeks” for quicker action. Alternatively, this bit may be used with a single rein.
The Waterford mouthpiece is comprised of several rounded links that conform to the mouth and are fluid. Because of this, the Waterford mouth helps to eliminate “leaning” or “hanging” on the bit.
The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron will rust when it comes into contact with humidity, the surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production. This will cause the horse to salivate more, which in turn will encourage a better acceptance of the bit. The process of rusting (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to a brownish-grey. This is the desired effect of the Sweet Iron bits. If a Sweet Iron bit is not used for a while, an orange-brown rust layer may form on the mouthpiece. Simply remove this by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
