TRUST Sweet Iron Medium Port Swales

The TRUST Sweet Iron Medium Port Swales offers curb‑like influence with a simpler, single‑mouthpiece design that provides clarity and precision. Ideally used with two reins, the upper loose ring allows for soft, direct contact while the lower shank ring introduces leverage when needed. Riders may also use a bit converter for single‑rein convenience.

Unlike other leverage bits, the Swales design does not apply poll pressure. The large, free‑rotating ring isolates the cheekpiece from the shank, making this bit an excellent choice for stronger horses that tend to suck back, curl behind the contact, or overreact to traditional poll‑pressure cheeks such as Pelhams, Universals, 2‑rings, or bevel bits.

Made from TRUST’s signature Sweet Iron, the mouthpiece features the recognizable blue finish that naturally oxidizes when exposed to air and moisture. This light surface rust tastes sweet to the horse, encouraging increased saliva production and promoting a softer, more accepting mouth.
