The 2-ring gag bit offers a wide variety of uses. Use the lower ring for additional leverage on the poll and maximum “gag” effect. The larger ring is used for mild “gag” action, less poll pressure and more action on the bars, similar to a basic loose ring snaffle.
The copper peanut helps to create salivation in the horses mouth, keeping them “soft” while the raised copper nibs give you a little more control. Having a 3-piece mouth is readily accepted by many horses as it reduces the nutcracker effect.
